| The occupants of 909, Exum St., a man and woman, were fortunate to escape the explosion and fire that resulted after they accidentally put gasoline into a kerosene heater late Sunday afternoon. Heavy black smoke was visible from downtown, and when firefighters arrived on scene they had their work cut out for them. In the immediate aftermath of the explosion the occupants somehow escaped the inferno and were assisted by a neighbor from across the street. |
