| Durham officers work the area just outside the jails booking area where a handcuffed prisoner armed with a weapon managed to shoot an officer during a struggle for a handgun that was apparently hidden in the suspects waistband. The officer who suffered a graze wound to the abdomen was transported to hospital for treatment before being released a few hours later. He is now recuperating at home. Investigators are trying to determine how the incident could have happened. |
